Since the roll out of BeautyCycle in late 2019, more than 26,000 customers have made use of the programme 46,000 times, diverting over 230,000 hard-to-recycle beauty packaging empties from going to landfill. In April we announced a collaboration with The NHS Becton Centre for Children and Young People. Recycled products were used to construct and donate a playground

Building happier futures for young people from care
We believe that every child and young person should have a fair start in life. But this isn’t the case for many of the 108,000 young people growing up in the UK’s care system. We have been struck by the unfairness faced by many children and young people whose childhoods were spent in care, who don’t have the safety net of family to call on.
At the John Lewis Partnership we are driven by our purpose to work in partnership for a happier world. As co-owners, we want to use our position as an employer and retailer to do what we can to harness the talent and improve the lives of children who have grown up in care.
That’s why we have made long term commitments to be there for our young people who are care experienced, supporting them through those crucial life moments.
The John Lewis Partnership joined Leather Working Group (LWG) in 2016 to support more responsible leather manufacturing.
LWG is an international not-for-profit organisation dedicated to driving excellence in leather manufacturing. LWG works with over 1600 businesses worldwide to promote responsible leather production through certification through the LWG Leather Manufacturer Audit Protocol. The LWG audit assesses tanneries against metrics for energy and water consumption, chemical management, waste management, and more. Find out more about LWG via www.leatherworkinggroup.com
John Lewis & Partners has partnered with not-for-profit environmental organisation, Canopy, to help protect the world’s Ancient and Endangered Forests. Together, we’re committed to ensuring the man-made cellulosic fibres in our fabrics and the paper in our packaging don’t come from these protected woodlands, essential to life on earth.
We hope our commitment helps create demand for innovative, more sustainable materials. Find out more about the CanopyStyle initiative at canopyplanet.org/campaigns/canopystyle/ and more about the Pack4Good initiative at canopyplanet.org/campaigns/pack4good/.
